Plascon Paint Expert
Objective: Improve online visibility and drive more product sales through paid search.
The Challenge
Plascon Paint Expert offers a range of services—from colour inspiration and DIY advice through their blog to an online store where customers can purchase paint and tools from hardware stores across South Africa. At the time, their Google Ads strategy was focused mainly on text-based search campaigns targeting broad keywords, but this approach wasn’t generating strong ROI or showcasing their product range effectively.
Our Solution
After reviewing their goals and current setup, we recommended shifting part of their ad budget to Google Shopping Ads, which are designed to visually showcase products directly within search results.
To make this happen, we:
- Set up a Google Merchant Center account
- Connected their eCommerce website to Google Merchant Center for live product sync
- Integrated it with Google Ads to launch a well-targeted Shopping campaign
- Ensured product feeds were optimized with proper titles, images, pricing, and categories
The Results
With the same R8,000 ad spend, the Google Shopping campaign delivered an average of 5x ROAS. Products were now appearing directly in front of high-intent buyers searching for paint and DIY tools, improving both visibility and conversion.
Impact
This shift gave Plascon Paint Expert a much better way to promote their wide product range while driving actual sales—not just clicks. It also made their online store more competitive in a crowded market by placing products directly into the buyer’s path.
